Location History

On a busy street in the heart of Cameron, West Virginia, stands a quiet, ordinary-looking house.

Upon passing by, there are few indicators of what lay behind the clean exterior and sign saying “Open”.

You have arrived at the infamously haunted Archive of the Afterlife.

In 2011, Stephen Hummel had an idea. That idea was to secure haunted items that owners didn’t want and place them for display.

But Stephen’s idea went far beyond collection. Stephen began to display these items so that people could learn their history and research the activity, calling his collection The Archive of the Afterlife.

The collection of haunted artifacts began to grow in size and infamy, including the infamous “666 Bible”, an embalming table and pump from the 1930’s, a chanting idol, battle damaged items from World War II, numerous haunted dolls and many other items.

The Archive of the Afterlife recently moved into a two-story house in the downtown area of Cameron, West Virginia.

The Paranormal

Our ghost hunts at the infamous Archive of the Afterlife are not for the faint of heart.

The Archive of the Afterlife is one of the most unique and haunted places in Cameron, West Virginia and reports of paranormal occurrences are frequent.

There are items from funeral homes, the home of a serial killer, death row, the electric chair, the holocaust, and some that have been associated with satanism and the occult. Several of the haunted dolls are known to communicate through disembodied voices and cause feelings of nausea, unease, and dread. Some of these dolls are known to change positions and create noises at night.

Voices are known to be heard around the photo of “Annie”, who is particular in who she allows near. Reports of child voices and being followed occur around a bloodstained children’s book.

Humming, unidentifiable music, and a sense of negativity surround the extremely haunted chanting idol. The infamous “666 Bible” has been said to produce illness and shadow people.

As you make your way through the building, you will feel the energy that’s been imprinted upon this vast collection of haunted items.

Feel the shivers up your spine as you hold the bible gripped by notorious serial killer Aileen Wuornos on death row and before her execution.

Note the sadness surrounding Old Sparky’s execution cap, which may have very well been responsible for the deaths of nine Inmates in West Virginia State Penitentiary’s electric chair.

The Archive of the Afterlife is filled with countless objects that may chill you to your very soul.

Do you dare to step inside and find out which items want to interact….with you?
