Location History
In the middle of a long stretch of desert road, sits the former mining community of Tonopah, NV.
At the edge of Tonopah stands a unique structure positioned next to an old wild west cemetery and decorated with an interesting and possibly frightening motif.

In 1985, Leroy and Leona David had the idea to build a tribute to their father, Clarence David, who was buried at the Old Tonopah Cemetery.
Clarence David was an avid collector of clowns, who left his collection of 150 of them in his home. With a theme in mind and land available right next to the cemetery, Leroy and Leona quickly began to build. And what was built would become a become a famous place of accommodation, the Clown Motel.
The Clown Motel features more than 2,000 clowns spread across the lobby and all 31 rooms, as well as rooms themed after popular horror movies such as “It” and “Friday The 13th”.

As you pull into the parking lot of the Clown Motel, you will take notice of the energy that extends beyond the massive collection of clowns.
Listen to the voices and open the door for those who knock, which may just be souls of Old Tonopah Cemetery, many of whom perished during a horrific mine fire in 1911.
